History
Located on Merivale Street, between the cultural precinct of South Bank and the vibrant streets of West End, Goldie’s Tavern continues the site’s long-standing role as a welcoming place to gather.
The venue first opened as Pig ‘N’ Whistle West End in 2015, bringing a British-style pub experience to one of Brisbane’s most connected neighbourhoods. Part of the broader Pig ‘N’ Whistle family, the West End venue became a familiar meeting place for locals, visitors, workers and event-goers alike.
Now reimagined as Goldie’s Tavern, the venue has entered a new chapter as a modern neighbourhood pub and sports bar. Goldie’s offers a lively, relaxed setting for live sport, casual dining, after-work drinks, weekend sessions and group bookings.
With large screens, comfortable booth seating, an open beer garden, pool tables, foosball and a menu of pub favourites, Goldie’s brings together the best parts of a local tavern: great food, cold drinks, live atmosphere and an easy place to settle in with friends.
Whether visiting before an event, catching the game, meeting for a meal or staying on for the evening, Goldie’s Tavern remains a place built around good company and shared moments.
